Dewa

Good, evil, love, hatred. Bali’s epic stories have it all. But how can we really appreciate Bali’s rich hindu culture and mythology? It is Bali’s art that makes these stories come to life. On my search for artists that I would like to promote on the GTP, I’ve seen many artists that make their own interpretation of Bali’s culture. However, when I met Dewa Ketut and saw his work, I was instantly convinced. Dewa’s style is impressive. Being only 23 years old and loving to express his imagination in his art, he holds a lot of potential for the future. A future that will hold more cultural Balinese expression, no doubt!

I had the fortune of being invited to his home in Bangli, where he showed me more of Bali’s culture and more of his talent!

The main gamalang performance was recorded at a ceremony in Keliki, where I was invited by Iwayan, as a thank you for the video I made for him.
